How Are HCG Drops Made?

HCG drops can be a powerful weight loss aid. HCG actually comes in three basic forms. The first was the type used by Dr. Simeons�an HCG injection. The second is a more recent method�sublingual HCG drops that you take orally (under your tongue). These first two are called "pharmaceutical" preparations because they require a doctor's prescription. Finally we have a newer form of oral hcg drops manufactured via a "homeopathic" process. But how are these different types of HCG made?

HCG is a hormone produced by pregnant women. It circulates through the woman's blood stream in enormous quantities, as much as 288,000 International Units per day. The HCG is collected and dried into a powder. In order to turn HCG powder into a form that can be taken into your body, it has to be mixed with sterile or bacteriostatic water�both are sterile, but bacteriostatic water has some alcohol added as a preservative.

Pharmaceutical HCG Drops and Injections

To create a dose of pharmaceutical HCG, whether drops or injections, you take 125 International Units of HCG powder and carefully mix it with sterile water. If you buy your HCG from a doctor's clinic, the mixing will often be done for you. However, many people prefer to buy their HCG in powdered form online and mix it on their own because it's much cheaper that way (although it still requires a legal prescription).

Once the powder has been mixed with water, it is ready to be inserted into your blood stream. You can do this either by injecting it into your body with a needle once per day or taking it under the tongue to be absorbed through the skin and into the plentiful blood vessels there. If you take it under the tongue (called "sublingual"), you have to take it twice per day since not all of the HCG is absorbed each time.

Homeopathic HCG Drops

To create homeopathic HCG drops, you start with a dose of pharmaceutical HCG drops, which contains 125 International Units of HCG, and take some additional steps to eliminate the negative side effects of HCG while retaining its potency. Using this method, homeopathic HCG works with your body's natural mechanisms so it has a lower negative impact on your body while triggering the same fat-burning response.

Once the homeopathic HCG drops are ready, they are taken under the tongue just like the pharmaceutical HCG drops, so they are absorbed into the blood stream. Homeopathic HCG drops work best when taken in more frequent doses. It can be done twice per day, but three or six daily doses at a smaller amount will usually work better.
